Ariston Cafe  ΓÇó Opened in 1924 by Pete Adam, the Ariston was originally located up the road in Carlinville.  The restaurant was moved to Litchfield in 1931.  Today the restaurant is run by Pete's son Nick and his wife Demi.  The interior is beautiful, and the old neon sign (the original) above the bar says' "Remember where good food is served."  If you eat here, you certainly won't forget.  Located on IL 16 & City 66, tel# 217-324-2023

  20. Sky View Drive-In Theater ΓÇó This Drive-In movie is the last on Route 66 in Illinois, and one of a few left on the entire route.  Make sure to stop by and head on out to the middle of the parking lot to take a photo of you and your friends here.  Located on old Route 66
